The audition process for the 2010 Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps Color Guard will consist of learning our equipment and movement techniques.
You do not need to prepare a routine for your audition. You will be evaluated as you learn our technique as well as a movement combination and an equipment phrase. If you do not already do so, it would help to take a dance class during the fall season. A technical ballet class would probably be the best. This will give you a good foundation on which we can build. Another thing you can build during the off season is your strength. (Push-up and crunches will help build your core as well as your arm strength. Running will help you to build your stamina.)
We are looking for members who are willing to adapt to the technique that we use here at Teal Sound. Being someone who is willing to learn new things and never give up while doing so is an important quality that we look for in our members.
What should I bring:
- a pair of gloves
- rifle (elite 39") or sabre (39") if you are going to audition for weapon
- form fitting clothing for auditions
- a positive attitude :o)
You do not need to bring a flag pole. One will be provided for you.
We look forward to seeing you at our 2010 auditions!
