The Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization based in the Sunshine state of Florida and comprised of 130+ talented, young and aspiring musicians ranging in age from 15 to 21. While the main goal of these young men and women is to achieve their educational best through the musical opportunities afforded to them by the drum and bugle corps activity, they return home after the summer as better leaders and pillar students within their communities.
In order to help make this program successful and a great ambassador from the state of Florida, we request your support as a sponsor. As a sponsor, we will include an advertisement onthe tealsound.org website as a corporate sponsor of the Teal Sound and send you a complimentary photo of the corps to place in your business.
For those that donate $1000.00 or more annually, we offer signage of your business logo on one of the corps' semi’s that travels the road extensively over the summer; a rolling billboard for all to see.
Each summer our corps travels extensively throughout the United States performing for thousands of fans and competing with 100 other corps from around the Country. Unfortunately, the rising costs of fuel combined with the increasing costs of other drum corps tour related expenses, has made it difficult on our budget. This summer, the Teal Sound will travel over 8,500 miles with three to four tour buses, a mobile kitchen unit, and an equipment semi trailer, as well as several other vehicles for souvenirs, staff and support staff. The fuel budget for a corps of this size ranges from $19,000 - $26,000 and food expenses for three meals a day and an evening snack (all prepared by our devoted parents called VolunTeals) runs approximately $20,000. When the members of the Teal Sound are not performing at competitive shows, they are enduring intensive and demanding character building practices of nearly thirteen hours a day and extensive travel; all this while sleeping on high school gym floors. While this may seem like roughing it to some, these young adults would not trade it for the world (except maybe an occasional hotel stay or a fancy meal). While the luxuries of hotel stays and fancy steak dinners are not in the plans for our tour, the young adults will eat nutritious meals and get enough rest to continue improving their musical talents, while also maturing through the process of learning self respect, discipline, and other attributes necessary to their growth.
We have dedicated ourselves to continuing this program to its fullest potential; recognizing that the activity instills respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, honesty, integrity, leadership and Esprit de Corps.
Please feel free to contact Randy Blackburn , Corps Director at 850-591-2621 to discuss becoming a sponsor of Teal Sound. |
